Novus is an app designed specifically for international exchange students to help ease the transition of studying in a different country. Its main features include virtual reality navigation, translation with customized slang and terminology, an event planner, and relevant contact information.
Throughout this design, the entire user experience is taken into consideration, accounting for error design and onboarding.

Studying abroad is often glamorized as many students eagerly recount the highlights, but tend to skip over the most difficult part: the transition. It's one thing to arrive in a new country and get oriented while preparing for classes, but add in the stress of not being fluent in the local language, and it can be quite overwhelming.
Novus helps international exchange students adjust to the culture of their new temporary home by providing an all-in-one space for functions that help students navigate their new campus, translate signage, learn common phrases and terminology, keep track of important events, and know who to contact for help and emergencies.
